Im in the "N"ARMY now!

Wow- we are in ttransition mode- let me tell you a few things that I found out... one the training site I am on was started in 1944 (?) I am on holy ground in a sense. This site was used to train Vietnam Soldiers- no lie. So- there is an interesting history here and they are trying to incorporate "tradition" here. The showed us a video of pictures of this area and soldiers and the training they had compared to the training we are getting. That's cool. They even play LOUD music over the outside speakers at 0700 as Robin Williams did in the movie "good morning Vietnam" The first day that happened- we were like WTF? is going on? Weird. Now we just enjoy it while it last.

***BIG NEWS*** today we had our first official training class run with are Army (SGA) Student group advisors. We have about 44 people in our class- we have Majority Navy, then Air force and 1 army guy! Anyway- I was the first female to finish- Ha! Yeah it was a slow pace- but the final 1/4 mile it was a free for all! And I finished strong! Who knows what tomorrow brings- but today the men saw I was not the weakest link!

Other news- My small pox vaccination site was looked at today for hte first time! And it took! Amazing since I have had Little to ZERO common reaction to it. I am not sick with Flu like symptoms as some- or have the crazed ITCHING attack... I am trying to have the best small pox scar! lol.

Anyway- for those of you who are already on my follow list- thanks. I spent my lunch time with you as to catch you up. I will now load pictures to FB later tonight when my training day has ended.

*Also- you are the first to know that I have been in contact with my replacement counterpart in Afghanistan and I just asked her for my mailing address! ttyl!

K+
